Dear all,

Hope this finds all of you and your loved ones at your very best.

We have attached the VACD Factsheet for your ready reference.

End of 2015/16 Financial Year in Australia

With the 30th of June, the end of the 2015/2016 financial year in Australia fast approaching, we take this opportunity to gently remind you of VACD’s  Deductible Gift Recipient status (DGR) that gives you an opportunity to offer financial support for our projects and programs and receive a tax rebate from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) for your generosity.  The official tax receipt issued by us will support your tax rebate claim when you lodge your tax returns with the ATO.

Your donations will enable us to establish, maintain and provide critical services highlighted in the attached Factsheet at the existing VACD Centre in Bandarawela and new VACD centres in the townships of Badulla, Mahiyangana, Welimada and Moneragala where there are significant number of children with disabilities. These children and their families have appealed to the VACD leadership for assistance and support. The Uva province has the highest rate of poverty in Sri Lanka that compels these desperate people to be heavily reliant upon our projects and programs to sustain them and offer them any hope for the future..

Please visit our website www.vacd.org.au to make your generous and much needed donations for our mission so that, together, we can help those for whom we are the only hope.

Virtual coins provide nutritious meals to disabled children

Our crowdfunding activity through our collaborative partner ‘Make Some Change’ continues to draw valuable support from participants who want to accomplish real change in the world of causes.

This global activity involves participants watching 2-3 minute video clips which earns him/her virtual coins, which are then dragged and dropped as donations to a cause of choice.  Having participated myself I can verify that these clips are informative, entertaining, topical and enjoyable.  The only real money comes from the sponsors and advertisers, so it doesn’t cost you anything other than just a few minutes of your time.

Click on the following link to receive 10 virtual coins to start you off, and for each of you joining I receive 20 coins:

This program provides nutritious meals for the children who attend the VACD centre for special education and training and was introduced as a direct result of a Health Inspector visiting the Centre and observing that the meals the children brought from homes were of little nutritional value.

A sincere ‘Thank you” to those participants who are actively helping causes on this site and “welcome” to those joining this initiative. keep it up!, we need more of you to participate.

Ongoing

As it is to be expected, the number of eligible disabled children requiring assistance under our“Educational Assistance Program”  (EAP) keeps growing exponentially and the establishment of more centres only increases this demand even further. Please consider sponsoring a child for A$20 per month.  To put it into perspective, this amount is far less than the monthly cost of a daily coffee.  The EAP initiative ensures children whose education would otherwise be disrupted due to financial hardship are given the assurance of a more hopeful future with uninterrupted education.

Please visit our webpage: http://www.vacd.org.au/  for more information on VACD, link directly to our collaborative partners’ webpages under the dropdown “Partners” menu and to support, assist and join us in this challenging, fulfilling and rewarding journey.

As always, take good care of yourselves, the very best to you all, thank you for your support and God bless….Yasmin
